How can you not be mesmerized by her? In these live performances it reminded me of some of some of the past/present Dolce & Gabbana collections for some reason ( Spring 2013 , Spring 2012 )

KERRY WASHINGTON IN VANITY FAIR HOLLYWOOD ISSUE

Kerry Washington on discovering James Baldwin’s “middle road,” race in America, and the artists who inspire her. -Vanity Fair I think its always important to immerse and absorb yourself into anything and everything. Always stay learning and reading about things that may not really be interesting to you and I say about 80% of the time I can take something inspiring and profound with just about anything... naturally in hindsight I'm intrigued by almost anything but thats just me being weird. I never knew about James Baldwin before Kerry spoke about him. Now I have to read up on some of his work & books! P.S I love how this video was shot like an film

Image
[Photos:Models] Shot By: Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi Hair and concept by Luigi Murenu Styled by i-D fashion director, Charlotte Stockdale You know there's some images that you see that just stick with you? I didn't necessarily want to say 'haunt'...well I could say it was creativley haunting! Kate can do no wrong she-looks-stunning in these pictures featured in i-D's magazine. There are two collections that I could never get tired of Spring 2013 Prada or S/2013 Louis Vuitton! NEVER! even now every magazine and every stylist is using every piece in every editorial I don't care! I love every piece from both collection!

You guys!!!! I'm over excited about this! Words can not explain how happy I am with Drew Barrymore launching her own makeup line called ' Flower ' and no its not some lame ass two eyeshadows three lipsticks and one powder compact its a full-on-makeup-line! theres probably over 50 items(don't hold me to that!) in this line! See my previous post January Beauty Wish List and see some of the things I want (its not even half of it! I would buy the whole line if I could) I have such a deep rooted love for her she's one of the many people who've helped me love being who I am and helped me raise my freak flag high, she will always fuel my inspiration and I will continue to support what ever she does in her career! Plus have you tasted Drews' wine ?? you can buy it in Target  Read some of Drews' interview here by clicking [read more] or on Intothegloss.com

KERRY WASHINGTON PRESS LOOKS

Image
( photos: Red Carpet Fashion,Glamour ) Its so hard to find Black women as style icons that are actually consistent and relievent in their work that I actually admire and thats really sad to say because there aren't a lot (in my opinion) out there or maybe I'm not looking hard enough but no one has caught my eye yet besides Kerry. Whether she styles herself or has a stylist she always finds a way to make it her own and it doesn't looked forced. If you've been following Kerry' stylish looks through out her Press junket for 'Django Unchained and also through out 2012 up to now she's been wearing a lot of asian influenced looks and I love it! here are some of her looks that admire

THE HITCHCOCK HOUR

Image
It seems theres a couple of Hitchcock movies coming out (not by the director of course) but surrounding his work and life (whether it be exaggerated or true) Alfred Hitchcock is one of my many favorite directors but when I seen the trailer and read the interview Tippi Hendren gave for the NY Times I had no idea that Alfred might of been just as psychotic as his films portrayed. I love in the interview that Tippis' life wasnt destroyed by him You don’t get it. He ruined my career, but he didn’t ruin my life. That time of my life was over. I still admire the man for who he was. ( NY Times Interview ) Shes a strong woman! Check out the trailer below featuring the beautiful Sienna Miller! Its nice to see her in films again! I hope she does justice playing Ms. Hendren! You can watch it on HBO Saturday, October 20th at 9PM! Hitchcock Trailer, starring Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren and Scarlett Johansson. Directed by Sacha Gervasi, Hitchcock movie opens November 23, 2012. I...

MY TOP 10 FAVORITE FILMS

Image
The apple of my eye, the most amazing director, screenwriter, producer, cinematographer Quentin Tarantino. His eye for details and the way he writes... it really amazes me and for me to say this is nothing because his cult films prove and live up to everything that he creates...I have not seen yet a bad film that he's put out yet! Or maybe thats because I'm such a die hard fan that nothing could be bad, but I highly doubt it. He serves as one of the many inspirations and heroes when it comes to my writing style/lingering work(short fashion films). (photos:google) Gilda is a 1946 American black-and-white film noir directed by Charles Vidor. It stars Glenn Ford and Rita Hayworth in her signature role as the ultimate femme fatale. The film was noted for cinematographer Rudolph Mate's lush photography, costume designer Jean Louis' wardrobe for Hayworth Not only is Rita Hayworth beautiful but when I first seen this movie maybe two years ago I never knew that it wou...

DESIGNER CRUSHES: STELLA MCCARTNEY

Image
I've been in la la lately and its kind of driving me insane I've been writing alot lately (fashion films) and I have to remind myself that I need to live in reality and bring myself back to some normalcy because I'll get so wrapped up in an idea that I don't do anything else and that can be bittersweet. Any inspiration that I get I have to write it down because if not I'll beat myself up about it later on down the road. I've been loving Stella McCartney as of late its really weird because a couple of years ago I used to love watching fashion shows and would be more then amped up for fashion week but for the last couple of years I don't really care about fashion week in a sense of wanting to see every show and flipping through every look...I used to be so obsessed but now a days I just look online at editorials or if I see a show on someone elses site or blog then I'll check out a collection. I havent really viewed any of Stellas shows ever since that ...

VISIONARY TALE

I'm not going to act like I know who Diana Vreeland previous this post but I knew I'd recognize some of (if not all) of her iconic work I stumbled apoun this trailer on a popular fashion blog that I frequent and decided to check it out. Not only was I stunned about how vibrant and how visual her work was she quickly became one of my icons! I looked up more of her work for Harpers Bazaar and reading a brief about her biography and I was just so amazed The Eye Must Travel—a biopic built around the stellar career of Vreeland, one of the most legendary American fashion editors who ever lived." - fashion bistro check out her site and more information here
